I got this problem and i can't figure it out:
a+bc
a=2
b=3
c=7
It's mind boggleing!
HELP!
im guessing you mean what does a+bc equal?
this is substitution in algebra, where we replace the letter, by its value
one thing you have to remember, is that in algebra, instead of writing a×b and b×c, we just write ab, and bc
so, a + bc = a + b×c. and substituting the values, a + bc = 2 + 3×7, by BODMAS (or whatever you may call it for order of operations) we do multiplication before we do addition, so first we work out 3×7, which is 21. and then we do 2 + 21, which is 23
so a + bc = 23
