addition problems with fractions

I am fairly young and I am starting to do addition problems with fractions, can someone help me with an example of how to do a problem.

The last step is done by simplifying the rational number. 209=11x19, 110=11x10, by cancelling 11 in the numerator and the denominator, the answer 19/10 is obtained.
