Percentages difference

I understand the concept of percentage change, (new)/(original) - (original)/(original)= percentage difference, however I am confused when I come to reverse the problem.
Say, I knew the percentage difference and the new value, but not the original.
For instance,
say (15)/(15)-(5)/(15)=2/3, if I didn't know the original value (x) how would I begin to rearrange the formula to give the original value ?
I'm dyslexic and I struggle with algebra. Is there anyone would could lend a hand ?

Re: Percentages difference

Hi anonymojus,
what you have defined is fractional change. For percentage change you have to multiply by 100.
