Diagram below. What is not clear to me is how you are supposed to express this. (in terms of what coordinate system).
If I had this problem and no more information I would call the original vector V1 = v.i where i is a unit vector in that direction. Then find V2 in terms of i and j.
ps. Looking again at the diagram, it would probably have been better if I had put V1 going the other way so it is positive i, but too late. I'm sure you can re-jig it yourself.
