Algebra Mixed Fractions

really stuck. I have tried to do this several times and i cant get the right answer.

would appreciate any help

this step i get confused with the

did i correctly make it negative? because the product will be
but i do this i get wrong answer

the product of the -b^2 is now
seems weird did i do that right?

to get this answer i multiplied the numerator by -1 and added negative in front of the fraction to keep the value i understand that

is that right im bit confused ><

as i write this i think i realised what happened.

in step 2 we multiply by b^2 and not negative because the negative belongs infront of the fraction right s:

Re: Algebra Mixed Fractions

Hi bronxsystem;

I do not understand. What do you need to do?

In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them.
If it ain't broke, fix it until it is.
Always satisfy the Prime Directive of getting the right answer above all else.

Your answer is not correct.

This is correct.

Your mistake is in the numerator of  your first step. Please check.

Re: Algebra Mixed Fractions

I am afraid you have not included the last fraction. You can not just multiply the first three terms by  (a - 2b)

Re: Algebra Mixed Fractions

if i mulitply the

with the negative i get

>< not sure how to get the last part right

Re: Algebra Mixed Fractions

When you combine the terms up into a single fraction you get

What is the numerator now?

Re: Algebra Mixed Fractions

-(a^3-2b^3) is -a^3 + 2b^3 in post#1 you have -a^3 - 2b^3
