Parallel and Perpendicular Lines and PlanesA new page for your enjoyment: Parallel and Perpendicular Lines and Planes "The physicists defer only to mathematicians, and the mathematicians defer only to God ..." Leon M. Lederman #2 20111109 17:58:06
Re: Parallel and Perpendicular Lines and PlanesHi MIF; In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it. All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof. #3 20111109 19:02:17
Re: Parallel and Perpendicular Lines and Planeshi MIF, You cannot teach a man anything; you can only help him find it within himself..........Galileo Galilei #4 20111110 10:22:13
Re: Parallel and Perpendicular Lines and Planes
With my gravity field generator ... doesn't everyone have one? "The physicists defer only to mathematicians, and the mathematicians defer only to God ..." Leon M. Lederman #5 20111110 10:56:14
Re: Parallel and Perpendicular Lines and PlanesI already knew that so I did not have to ask. In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. Re: Parallel and Perpendicular Lines and PlanesHi MathsIsFun, Character is who you are when no one is looking. #7 20111111 09:43:24
Re: Parallel and Perpendicular Lines and PlanesThanks ganesh! "The physicists defer only to mathematicians, and the mathematicians defer only to God ..." Leon M. Lederman #8 20111111 19:39:58
Re: Parallel and Perpendicular Lines and Planeshi MIF,
Sadly not. Now that would have been very handy for moving the shed. As it was we had to resort to very old technology ... Egyptian I think ... we used rollers. You cannot teach a man anything; you can only help him find it within himself..........Galileo Galilei #9 20111112 09:33:04
Re: Parallel and Perpendicular Lines and PlanesRollers are a great invention. "The physicists defer only to mathematicians, and the mathematicians defer only to God ..." Leon M. Lederman #10 20111112 10:28:42
Re: Parallel and Perpendicular Lines and Planeshi MIF The limit operator is just an excuse for doing something you know you can't. “It's the subject that nobody knows anything about that we can all talk about!” ― Richard Feynman “Taking a new step, uttering a new word, is what people fear most.” ― Fyodor Dostoyevsky, Crime and Punishment #11 20111112 14:52:45

Re: Parallel and Perpendicular Lines and Planeswell this is fine for grades up to 8 but i think a more precise definition would be necessary, because that's how the higher grades learn it.maybe besides what you have you should have a page that explains lines better,if there isn't one already and just give a link to it.i see here that there's one that explains ines on the lower grade level but not the one that gives the real definition of lines by using Euclid's axioms. Click onto this link for the problem (mind bender) at the bottom of the page. Signature line: I wish a had a more interesting signature line. #14 20111127 09:08:22
Re: Parallel and Perpendicular Lines and PlanesInteresting example, thanks. "The physicists defer only to mathematicians, and the mathematicians defer only to God ..." Leon M. Lederman
