Re: What is Factogon?

Hi ampohmeow;

Welcome to the forum.

I have never heard of it. Ask your teacher.
Or if he/she does not wish to tell you ask them if they will come here and tell me.

Re: What is Factogon?

Hi ampohmeow;

Yes I know it has been asked and everywhere the same answer. Everyone said they never heard of it. I cannot say it is a new term, because I have never heard of it either.

Can you say who gave this question? Also you do not need to call me sir, bobbym is fine.
Makes me feel younger!

Re: What is Factogon?

hi ampohmeow

This has me beaten too.  Sounds like it ought to be some sort of polygon but there is no Greek number starting 'fact' so that will not work.

I see from my search that a teacher has set the task of making one.  Hmmm. If it were me, and I was always getting in trouble at school for being awkward, I would get a bit of card, cut out a random sized polygon, and write a really useful fact in fancy letters.

Here is a fact you could use:

'No one on the website Maths Is Fun has heard of a factogon.'

If this gets you a detention don't blame me!

Anti-detention argument:  At least it shows research on an excellent maths help website.  What more could you ask?

Re: What is Factogon?

Guys thank you for all the reply, I appreciated it a lot.

Same with me here, I didn't heard that word before. I don't think so if the teacher who gave this project, don't know anything about the subject matter but instead trying to get more information about it that's why he gave it as a project.

Thanks guys. God bless and more Power!

Hi ampohmeow;

I do not think he is fishing.

I am now inclined to agree with Bob (post #5). That is what I would choose also. Please blame me if your teacher gets angry.
Just say,"bobbym did it that way." If he has ever been to the AOPS he will understand.
