How proofs are made"The physicists defer only to mathematicians, and the mathematicians defer only to God ..." - Leon M. Lederman #2 2010-01-09 10:59:31
Re: How proofs are madeThe truly sad part is the years later.
In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. Probability is the most important concept in modern science, especially as nobody has the slightest notion what it means. 90% of mathematicians do not understand 90% of currently published mathematics. #3 2010-01-11 07:02:13
Re: How proofs are madeOoh, I haven't seen this before. I know how I'm spending my next hour or two. Why did the vector cross the road? It wanted to be normal. #4 2013-04-16 12:49:30
Re: How proofs are madeI didn't get it 'And fun? If maths is fun, then getting a tooth extraction is fun. A viral infection is fun. Rabies shots are fun.' 'God exists because Mathematics is consistent, and the devil exists because we cannot prove it' 'The whole person changes, why can't a habit?' -65 #5 2013-04-16 19:10:56
