Hit the CoordinateA simple game to teach coordinates: Hit the Coordinate "The physicists defer only to mathematicians, and the mathematicians defer only to God ..." Leon M. Lederman #2 20090701 17:24:31
Re: Hit the CoordinateI also redid this page: Cartesian Coordinates "The physicists defer only to mathematicians, and the mathematicians defer only to God ..." Leon M. Lederman #3 20090701 21:22:29

I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it. All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof. #4 20090701 22:35:19
Re: Hit the CoordinateSo x is leftright, y is updown and z heads off "into the page" ... ? "The physicists defer only to mathematicians, and the mathematicians defer only to God ..." Leon M. Lederman #5 20090702 00:50:20
Re: Hit the CoordinateI think it's fine as it is. The xy plane is the same as it was before, we're just looking at it from a different angle because otherwise the zarrow would be pointing right at us and be hard to see. Why did the vector cross the road? It wanted to be normal. #6 20090702 04:42:19
