I have spent a lot of time and effort working on the software to support the Question Database, and now it is ready (I hope) for a big input from everyone. I am continuing to develop the software, but your help is needed to make the questions.

How can you help?

* By adding new Questions

* By checking and amending Questions that have been added by others

* By trying the Questions yourself and giving feedback on any problems.

Go to Question Database at Mathopolis.

You need to log in there, and have Author permission (just tell me your username there and I can grant you permission) to see the first two options:

Questions Needing Attention

Add a Question

But you can also try:

Make a Quiz (All Questions)

Make a Quiz (Checked Questions)

And give feedback at the bottom of any question that has a problem.

But another way to add questions is from this forum, by clicking on "Make Question" at the bottom left hand corner of any post (as mentioned on this thread: Question Bank )

I have begun this process by gradually going through each post in the Help Me! forum for 2005.

If someone would like to nominate a Year (or even a month) of the Help Me! topic that they would like to make questions from, please step forward!

My HOPE is to have thousands of good quality Questions for people to practice on.

Just a few questions added or checked per week from every regular member would soon see a really useful resource.

There are currently 246 questions on the database but none of them have been checked.

You can help by reviewing the existing questions, fixing as needed, and then selecting that you have checked them.

I've just signed up as "mathsy", and I'd be happy to help check the questions.

Possible bug: If I go to all questions, there's nothing there. Does that link go to the checked questions instead?

This a huge undertaking, wow! I also am having trouble finding any questions to check. I'm not sure that anyone is overjoyed to have me check things but I don't mind helping.

And, yes, it is a massive undertaking. But if we can all contribute a little each week then we could have a really great resource.

I have a clue ... you may not have cookies enabled. Or you may not have javascript enabled.

Also: what browser/operating system do you use?

I have cookies enabled and I have javascript enabled also the JRE enabled. I am using Firefox 3.0.10 the latest one. If you are up to it, we should keep trying.

Thanks bobbym and mathsy, I notice that we are starting to get some "checked" questions now!

(Note: I will put a "by" and a "checked by" on the answer page of each question.)

Update: We now have 263 Questions, but only 117 have been checked.

It would be nice to see both numbers grow!

I only show about 110 to be checked. Problems are a little tougher so I have slowed down a bit. Will get the job done.

I've been checking some as well.
Sometimes I find a small mistaek in one of the problems and then I don't tick the "checked by" box after fixing it. So I've looked at more than it seems I have.
