Epilepsy trouble.

My girlfriends little girl has epilepsy, she like to watch me on the computer. When I was scrolling down on a thread there was a flashing avatar which triggered a fit. I am here to ask if flashing avatars are allowed, are they, should they?

Re: Epilepsy trouble.

I guess we could ask people with flashing avatars to change them.

Re: Epilepsy trouble.

It's just that her mother wasn't in and I didn't know what to do, so I took her to the hospital... I'ts not just for me/her I'm asking this for, it's everyone who has epilepsy. Think, if someone who is left alone in the house has epilepsy who is on this forum, guest or member, scrolls down, sees a flashing image. They take a fit, this could be troublesome for them, you see. hmm

Re: Epilepsy trouble.

Do you happen to know which avatar set the fit off?

Re: Epilepsy trouble.

It happened once before when she was 2, 3 months after me and Kerry first met. It was a beautiful christmas frost on the window, i really cherished it. They where setting up the tree when I was looking out the window, I felt a glow behind me. It was the tree lights, we didn't know that when the lights first went on they would flash but they did. She started screaming, It was awful...
So thanks!

BTW - Whilte_Wolfs ? LOL! lol

Re: Epilepsy trouble.

My previous dog had epilepsy. He would start trotting around the house looking for a place to "escape", then the fits would start. I would hold him and comfort him until he had a big enough fit to send him unconscious, and that would then be over. But he would be a bit "clingy" for the next day or so.

Re: Epilepsy trouble.

What started the fits? Yes, they become clingy for the nexy couple of days. Can you die of epilepsy?

Re: Epilepsy trouble.

Nothing seemed to start them. They were never life-threatening for him, just scary to see.

Re: Epilepsy trouble.

Is it a different effect on animals as it is on humans? Can fish have epilepsy? We have 3 goldfish and they move strange when the lights come on in there tank.

Re: Epilepsy trouble.

I think that dogs and humans are very similar in terms of epilepsy ... there are also many types and degrees of epilepsy. Don't know about fish, though.

Re: Epilepsy trouble.

Could you give me some examples of the degrees and types if it's not too much trouble. Turns out our fish don't, it says that you should make it brighter a little at a time. They don't have eyelids, you see. Imagine getting up in the morning and not being able to squint, ouch.
