Help me - Blur

If 1.587 = Level 100 (Highest) and 1.457 at Level 1 (Lowest),  what is the Level for 1.512 ?

Pls provide me with the calculation formulae.  Thanks.

Re: Help me - Blur

∴ 1.512 is between Level 42 and Level 43.

Re: Help me - Blur

I differ in my calculations..
1.587-1.457=0.130
so we have 130 parts which are divided into 100 levels..
So 1part=10/13level
now required part =1.512-1.457=0.055
so, its the 56th part!
Required level=56*10/13=43.07... neutral

Re: Help me - Blur

Appreciate your sharing.  Look like is not an easy question.  No proper formulae to calculate the correct answer.

No! shame You don’t divide by the number of levels. You divide by the number of intervals between levels. 100 levels = 99 intervals.

Re: Help me - Blur

Jane's method is correct
even if the lev1&100 #'s are
not in the middle of the
ranges.  Because the
computed points will be
somewhere in the 2..99
ranges.
You will always have 2
possible answers since
we don't know the
exact boundaries, but you
will have a definite
answer if you are on
one of the computed
points.

Re: Help me - Blur

Thanks, JaneFairfax and everyone

I have understood.  The formulae is (Mid-Value - Lowest Value) /((Highest Value-Lowest Value)/(100-1)) + 1
