Shapes Freeplay

Just made another thing. This one is to teach shapes and patterns, but it is actually quite nice to just play with: Shapes Freeplay

Let me know any bugs, and you may also have some suggestions for making it even better.

You may even suggest some new shapes that work together well.

PLUS for a limited time only, if you press "List" it will give a list of the shapes and their positions that I can paste into the program ... if you have a good pattern (ignoring color) that others may like to color in, please paste the code into your reply. It will look something like "["trap",0x000000,-120,[371.25,177.95]],["trap",0x000000,60,[258.75,242.95]],..."

Re: Shapes Freeplay

I was just playing around on it whenm i noticed that when u put a shape over the color selection and the shape completely covers a button, you cannot click on that button.
You can ad the shapes but you cant select the color.down
Suggestion:
Make the color selection bar like the new shape bar.

Re: Shapes Freeplay

How does the shape overlapping work? because if a shape is behind another shape you cannot see it. Try outlining a shape when it is overlapped.

Re: Shapes Freeplay

Thanks careless ... I will try to put colors at a "higher" level.

Overlapping: do you mean when identical shapes completely overlap? Because if they only partly overlap you should be able to see.

Re: Shapes Freeplay

I think it'd be good to have some more regular polygons in there (and maybe a slider to change the size).

Why did the vector cross the road?
It wanted to be normal.

But which polygons would go nicely with each other?

Re: Shapes Freeplay

I still see rhumbuses so is it going to be fixed in the new version?

Triangles, squares and hexagons (all of which you already have) are the only regular ones that would tessellate. Others, like octagons, don't tessellate but do still fit to make a pattern.

I think it'd be more interesting if you included some shapes that don't tessellate (at the moment they all do), because then people could investigate which ones do.

Re: Shapes Freeplay

An update! Now has pentagon and octagon, plus put color-bar at top. Thanks for suggestions!

Re: Shapes Freeplay

How do you drag them past the edge? Moving real fast?
