Woot some ska fans. There are a lot of really good local ska bands where I live. I uploaded some on imeem (a music post webhost).  If you like ska check this out "http://profile.imeem.com/1WX_KP/music/7q1pHhU8/life_in_the_mafia_i_need_you/" It's worth signing up for, listen and tell me what you think. By the way this is some kids from my old neighborhood XD

I have the same kind of dad woot.  And college is going to be fun, I'm moving from Louisiana to Mass. So LONG ways away. I'll be 18 in October so I'll be 17 when I start school. And on another positive note I'm getting my next tattoo in a week. woot.

Well I have some test blues to submit as well...

Took the practice AP CalcAP exam as a graded assignment in Calc today.  It's 1/3 of our grade and the system at my school (High school FYI) is that if you gat an A in the 3rd and 4th nine week period you opt out of your final exam. Anyways, 9 days of school left and I'm psyched, then I get to 6th period and look at this test. o.O <-- is honestly how I felt, I knew everything fairly well, except for trig (which vacated my mind when I first tried to recall it).  To make a long story short I have to take the calc exam now. But on the up side, 9 days of school left, then graduation, then moving to college.

Seeing as I already have a girlfriend, and that I'm the type of person that doesn't mind consequences for a good laugh; these are great.

Hey... nice asymptote.

I wish I was the derivative, so I could lie tangent to your curves.  (This one actually worked for me and my friend at a Mu Alpha Theta convention >.<)

Come on baby, let's off to a decimal place I know of and I'll take you to the limit.

I'm not being obtuse, but you're acute girl.

Let's convert our potential energy to kinetic energy.

How can I know so many hundreds of digits of pi and not the digits of your phone number? (This one is my favorite ROFL)

I like the area bounded by your curves!

Post more if you know 'em and try them yourself, it's really quite funny to see people's reactions.

Mmk, gotcha. One more question then.  googol is 1 followed by 100 zeros, so shouldn't the formula be

??

#110 Re: Formulas » Mathematical constants, Prefixes and Suffixes » 2008-04-07 07:17:33

About that googolplex:

you have

and isn't

just 1?

Second thought that comes to mind: OWNED!!

I can tell by the avatar dragonshade. XD which one's are your favorite, etc...

I enjoy Naruto, It's one of my favorite mainstream animes, albeit the flashback sequences make me want to pull my hair out sometimes.

Music is my real vice. Whether playing guitar or just listening there's always music in the background, ESPECIALLY when I'm doing homework.

#114 Re: Dark Discussions at Cafe Infinity » So anyone... » 2008-04-06 15:17:23

Lol, well I'm a weird guy.  One day I'll be mountain biking with my friends the next I'm just as content to sit at home watch hours of anime (all of which is legally downloaded or paid for 8D).  My interests just span the board.  As for it's appeal: it offers the same thing that a good novel offers; the chance to forget about what's going on around you for a while , a brief respite if you will, of all the helter skelter that's going on in real life.

Watch anime?

I've watched a lot of different animes mainstream and the ones from the dark corners of nowhere.  I was hesitant about super mainstream shows b/c they tend t o play out quickly but I was pleasantly surprised. I've recently started watching Bleach, I'm about 20 episodes in and liking it. Any suggestions on other ones that are pretty good? What do you guys watch (at least when there's time for T.V.)

Woot!!! Thanks, now 5 hours of sleep and then school. Gotta love life!

#117 Re: Help Me ! » Tell me what I did wrong >.< » 2008-04-06 14:45:29

I think I need to call it a night I posted x=1 something like 3 times in a row, and the whole time I meant y=1, I'm really sorry. You don't need to bother with it anymore I'll get a fresh look tomorrow.

I appreciate your help very much and thanks for putting up with my "coming down from a 48+ hour caffeine induced cram session".

Here's a kirby for your effort: (>^^)> and thanks again.

What I said there was incorrect (I don't think I can blame this on a long day any longer legitimately). If i rotate the graph of

with boundaries at y=0, x=1, and x=4 around the axis at x=1, then my integral will change from
to
correct?

#119 Re: Help Me ! » Tell me what I did wrong >.< » 2008-04-06 14:29:24

You could rotate it around x=1 without cutting the graph. But if you did that the first part of the integral would look like (1-y)?

#120 Re: Help Me ! » Tell me what I did wrong >.< » 2008-04-06 14:24:02

No, i mean instead of revolving around the x-axis I revolve the entire thing around y=2 (not x=2 like in the original post, oops, smell the sizzling brain cells yet?).

#121 Re: Help Me ! » Tell me what I did wrong >.< » 2008-04-06 14:20:06

If I was going to change the axis from x to something like x = 2 the integral would be the same except for y, which would now be (2-y). Correct?

#122 Re: Help Me ! » Tell me what I did wrong >.< » 2008-04-06 14:16:38

AHHH!!!! There it is. Lol, all those innocent brain cells sacrificed just because I didn't realize the digits for pi. argh.  Thank you soo much.

#123 Re: Help Me ! » Tell me what I did wrong >.< » 2008-04-06 14:12:27

Yeah, the algebra was bogging me down, I've been doing too much match today. >.<

Anyways

But in the answer key I am seeing

#125 Re: Help Me ! » Tell me what I did wrong >.< » 2008-04-06 13:56:39

you went from:

to:

Can you rationalize the denominator while it's a term of the binomial??

I went from:

to:

So there's some difference in the final answer here.

I'm confused XD
