if you have x^2-4 and then subtract 4 you get
x^2-4-4=x^2-8

for the third yoiu can do this:
this is what you got:
2(6x^2+7x-3)=0
now you can do this:
6x^2+7x-3=0/2
6x^2+7x-3=0
6x^2-2x+9x-3=0
2x(3x-1)+3(3x-1)=0
(2x+3)(3x-1)=0
2x+3=0
2x=-3
x=-3/2
3x-1=0
3x=1
x=1/3
