i define this to be stupid!

x squared is equal to the area of a square of side lengths x,

therefore, x triangled should be the area of an equalateral triangle with side lengths x!

which would be x^2sqrt(3)/4.

moreover, x circled would be 1/4pi(x^2).

This is more fun! wink

Actually , when you square a number, you are also calculating the number of circles needed to make a square with a side of that number...

So, x triangled works on the same principle

No 3:

There is a game like that in the internet. It is pretty hard!

In fact, it is said that there are 92 possible solutions...

But some of them are just rotated and mirror images of each other...

Plus, can anyone pls tell me how to use hidetags?

He is saying that he cannot understand because he cannot understand.

He's saying that you should know that he cannot understand because it is obvious that he cannot understand the joke.

He doesn't think it is a joke hmm

He should have placed an apostrophe before the cause to make it right, at least in my grammar book:

"You know I don't understand 'cause I don't understand"

You can simplify these into 1/5,2/5,3/5, and 4/5, respectively

#558 Re: This is Cool » Cut A Hole! In A Sheet Of Paper Problem!... » 2007-10-20 18:11:48

yeah, but if you destroy the atoms/molecules when cutting the paper, the paper would break down, and it would no longer be paper with a hole in it! It would just be a bunch of subatomic particles.

No longer paper

I think there is a rule out there somewhere saying that infinites equal to a finite number. i think that's how they solved the Achilles and the Tortoise Paradox dunno

#564 Re: This is Cool » Cut A Hole! In A Sheet Of Paper Problem!... » 2007-10-19 01:17:16

I think, for any sized paper, the largest hole you can cut (without doing the tricks of turning it into a hole with a larger area than the original) is one with one with an edges thickness of an  atom/molecule's diameter. The percentage differs from paper to paper, so I don't know the percentage.
