the central angle of a sector of a circle is 0.6 radian.
find the area of the sector if the radius is 4 meters.

i did:

0.6 = 0.6 / 360 * pi(4)^2 = 0.026666666

correct?

yup....in steps it looks like:

?(2x+3) = 3
=> (?(2x+3))² = 3²
=> 2x+3 = 9
=> 2x = 9-3
=> 2x = 6
=> x= (6/2)
=> x=3

that would be if you have to all your steps.....well im sure you understand it now

you know when you put

?(2x+3) = 3
there has to be a 3 on the top of the sqrt sign
like this is ? so teh three is on the top side of teh ? liek this
3?

i know how to do it that way that you just said but the 3 messed me up.

find value of x

i did

m angle A = 1/2 (m CEarc - m BDarc)

25 = 1/2 (100 - x)
25 = 50 - 1/2x
1/2x - 50 = 25
add 50 both sides
1/2x = 75
x = 150
which is wrong

#40 Re: Help Me ! » radius & coordinates » 2006-11-14 09:35:26

ok i know what you are saying...
you have given me the standard circle form which i can do
which i see in the book.
but in teh book we have numbers instead of letters..can i change teh letter into number and letters back again for me to do this?

liek in the book
the standard form is > (x + 3)^2 + (y - 3)^2 = 16
then they did
x^2 + 6x + 9 + y^2 - 6y + 9 = 16
and finished by collecting like terms
x^2 + y^2 + 6x - 6y + 2 = 0

so in our problem:
(x - a)^2 + (y - b)^2 = r^2 right
so we can do teh same way like the way they did in the book?
like
x^2 - a^2 + y^2 - b^2 + ay - ab = r^2 then what i think i have the wrong way in doing this...help

ok

x+3 / x^3 + 2x - 1

            x - 1
           -------------------
x + 3  | x^3 + 2x - 1
            x^3 + 3x
           ----------------
                      5x - 1
                     -1x - 3
                  ----------------
                     +1x + 3
                     --------------
                      6x + (-2)
now what do i do? and please explain it well to me how to do it if i did this wrong!

well math is very important. it is used every single day
it is all on us to learn math. if others can't explain it well so what can we do they arent very good teachers right. we have to force our selves to learn math. so we can succeed in the future. don't try to look if otehrs can help or not cuz sometimes they cant help or they dont know how to. you have to help yourself am i right guys?

f (x) = sqrt(x + 6)

x + 6  > 0
          -

subtract 6 both sides
x < -6
   -

(-00,-6) < is the domain of F

so

x^3 + 2x - 1
---------------
    x + 3

x^3 + 3x - 2

the way i did it ..it seems to me that i did it wrong
can you correct me on this?
