Have you fully explored whether m's law of the dots can be safely used after 9 extraction from dots?
Why stop at two? We need more!
(Note: odd errors like this are devilishly hard to fix, as you need to work out why they happen in the first place.)
Anyone else get this?
Reppy was so cool.
Yes, and I can delete it manually, by looking up its cached name. Such as "f/f/29156445d5e534d194b44703db36ab1.gif" for the misbehaved image above.
To speed up page loads, once latex is created it is kept in a large cache. If latex was always being created things would be really slow.
So if you write some latex that has already been done you get that old version.
Try changing it a little (say with a space or variable change) and it will likely have to make a new one that works properly.
Will have a look!
And the last one to bind them: Investing introduction
And another: Internal Rate of Return IRR
1.10 to power 6 is better than 1.10 x 1.10 x 1.10 x 1.10 x 1.10 x 1.10
Could you say is quicker to calculate ?
Quicker is better, so better will become quicker.
Well then, here is another (somewhat duplicated beginning): Net Present Value NPV
A new "Money" page: Present Value (PV)
What do you all think?
You have a talent for sure.
OK, will look at both of those.
Thanks guys, will add explanations and links to relevant pages.
Working on a new Investment/Loan Graph
Does it make sense? Does it do the calcs correctly? Any suggestions?
I love it when nature solves mathematical puzzles for us!
Now if we could just get soap bubbles to solve traveling salesman problems ... hang on, is this remotely possible? Maybe being only 3-dimensional is a limiting factor.
Videos are underway (gradually). And forum changes are not expensive, just risky (any change in software brings the potential to be hacked, it has happened in the past).
So we can't see anything worth throwing a lot of money at (assuming it was available) ?
Hypothetically! If a grant of money were available to help online math education (possibly through mathsisfun.com, mathopolis.com or this forum) how would you spend it?
Thank You One and All!
Excellent, I will link to it from the main website now.
Maybe we could come up with an argument for pi/2. It is a "right" angle, so it must be right!
Perhaps tau would have been a better choice, but there are also arguments supporting pi. Area = pi r^2 for example. And some stats formulas have plain old pi in them.
And here is my draft of Definite Integrals
Comments/Error Reports/Suggestions/etc please!
