No venn diagram. It's the mechanics of a game that im just curious about. Each stat is a separate occurrence. The stats I'm looking at give 4% chance to block an attack. If this fails you get another 9% chance to block. If this fails you then have a 7% chance to block. I've checked with adding them and it doesn't work that way because there is a spec that gives u +80% to block. This would put me at 100% chance to block but you can still occasionally get hit.

how do you calculate the probability of something happening when there are multiple percentages? i know you cant just add them haha
the problem: there is a 4% chance something won't happen. then there is a separate 9% chance it won't happen. again separate is a 7% chance it won't happen. what's the overall probability of the event not happening?

i think this much is right

1+secB
sinB+tanB    =cscB

(1+secB)(1/1+secB)
(sinB+tanB)(1/1+secB)

_____1_____
sinB+tanB
1+secB

so now do I need to make the part under 1=sinB, so it will be 1/sinB, which is equal to cscB

10+x+y=180

the only way i know how to do this is guess and check, giving me:
x=60
y=110
this way they progress arithmetically and the common difference is 50

how did you get form the first line to the second line?

#9 Re: Help Me ! » letter number problem » 2008-03-07 14:01:12

hmm, so you mean that each letter can be replaced by a number?
and can a digit be used twice, for instance, L=2 and T=2?

I got the answer but need to show my work. Answer is x=3.
Let P(x)=x³-3x²+2 and Q(x)=x²-6x+11. Find all values of x such that P(x)=Q(x).
