use the remainder theorem to evaluate 4x^3 + 2xx^2 + 3 + 1 , when x = -2

4(-2)^3 + 2(-2)^2 + 3(-2) + 1
-32 + 8 + (-6) + 1
-32 + 8 - 6 + 1
-24 - 6 + 1
-30 + 1
-29

emma could finish grading 10 papers in 20 minutes. grace could grade 15 papers in 25 minutes. if they worked together, how many minutes would it take emma and grace to grade 30 papers?

i did:

E = 10p in 20m
G = 15p in 25m

30 p in how many m

10p + 15p = 25p
20m + 25m = 45m

emma can grade 5p in 10m
so
10p + 15p + 5p = 30p
20m + 25m + 10m = 55m
so answer is 55m

Write the equation of the line that is equidistant from the points (4, 2) and (-4, 3).

distance (x, y) to (-4, 3) = distance (x, y) to (4, 2)

----------------------------------------------------------

sqrt( [(x) - (-4)]^2 + [(3) - (y)]^2 ) = sqrt( [(4) - (x)]^2 + [(2) - (y)]^2 )

(x + 4)^2 + (3 - y)^2 = (4 - x)^2 + (2 - y)^2

x^2 + 16x + 16 + 9 - 6y + y^2 = 16 - 8x + x^2 + 4 - 4y + y^2

16x + 16 + 9 - 6y = 16 - 8x + 4 - 4y

24x + 10y - 5 = 0

y = - 12/5x + 5/10

A fighter plane could fly at 4 times the speed of the wind. as a result, it could travel 600 miles downwind in 1 hour longer than it took to travel 300 miles upwind. what waas the fighter plane's speed in  still air?

But the upwind and downwind thing is right.

sinx = 2.897777479 / 5
sinx = 0.579555495
so
x = sin 0.579555495
x = 0.010114979
