Re: Area problems Please Help!!

Sure x + y is the same as y + x.

Re: Area problems Please Help!!

okay. Thanks! may I try and attempt the problem I have, on my own and you can follow my work and check me?

Also I said I'd bring a bit Japanese, do you know your Japanese vowel sounds?

Re: Area problems Please Help!!

Okay, in Romaji, they are the same letters as in english.

a i u e o

Pronounciation is different though, of course. I use this to remember it: Ah We Soon Get Old

a = Ah. The word 'pan' which means 'bread' sounds like this: p-ah-n

i = We. The word 'midori' which means green sounds like this: me-doh-ree

u = Soon. The word 'kuruma' which means car sounds like this: koo-roo-mah

e = Get. The phrase 'ittekimasu' which means 'i am leaving' sounds like this: ee-teh-kee-mah-s

o = Old. The word 'onnanoko' means girl and sounds like this: oh-nah-noh-koh

*sorry for the late response I had dishes to do..

My new problem's points are (-2 , 2) and (5, 1)

I think the slope is -7?

Re: Area problems Please Help!!

Hmm okay, lets do this step by step then.

( -2, 2), (5,1)

Slope = m= (y2 - y1) / (x2 - x1)
m= ( 1 - 2) / (5--2)
How is it looking so far?

and do you understand the vowels so far?

Re: Area problems Please Help!!

Do I leave it like that or divide it? If I divide, won't I get a decimal?

So you have m. Now just plug in.

(y - 2) = -1/7(x - -2)

simplified to: y - 2 = -1/7x -- 2?

Re: Area problems Please Help!!

y - 2 = - 1/ 7( x+ 2)

y - 2 = (-1/7) x - 2 / 7 And now?

Re: Area problems Please Help!!

Add 2/7 to both sides:

Re: Area problems Please Help!!

okay. So:

y - 2 = (-1/7) x - 2 / 7

goes to: y - 2= -1/7x...? possibly? Something like that...

Nope.

Add 2/7 to both sides.

y - 2 + 2/7 = (-1/7)x
