Yes you did!;) Vast coverage!

ok guys how about this :
Write 0.7165 as e raised to a power.

0.7165=e[sup]ln0.7165[/sup] dizzy

You see- they say such a number is well defined even without writing it out

#1030 Re: Introductions » Hi! » 2006-11-04 23:15:14

It does not exist, however

#1032 Re: Help Me ! » Find X » 2006-11-04 23:01:57

Uh, I used ":" as "/", but your textbook may not allow this symbol.

#1033 Re: Help Me ! » To the power of 0 » 2006-11-04 22:37:27

By the way, I don't quite agree with Ricky's corroboration in post 6
It is like advocating - Let's define it 1, for the continuity sake!
If that makes sense, how about we define 0[sup]0[/sup] as 0 (for the continuity of 0[sup]x[/sup]), or as 1 (for the continuity of x[sup]0[/sup])?eek

So the algebra reason should be the essential one, and you can refuse it so long as you would like  use the second approach in post 9 all the time.touched

I know you mean no x multiplied doesn't make sense. But x^0 makes sense sometimes. Still you have the right to deny it.

#1034 Re: Help Me ! » To the power of 0 » 2006-11-04 22:29:47

Suppose you do the algebra
2[sup]3[/sup]/(2*4)
and it is convenient and fluent for you to do 3-1-2=0 and 2^0=1
instead of having to write out 2[sup]3[/sup]/itself=1
Calculations like the former could Always replace the way similar to the latter Except when 0/0
So I hold that 0^0 should be undefined.

Well, in the end I cannot help but treat sinx and xcosx as x+x+o(x)

Horoscope is not as exact as I used to think of.
My Dad is a Capricorn, and my Mum is a Scorpia, but she is more workaholic than him.

Because the earth spins from the west to the east, thus people living in the east end night and embrace the sunshine always earlier than people in the west, and that's why we sometimes call ourselves "orientals". big_smile

Veda's(?) Law:
a=-(x1+x2) b=x1 x2

Proof (Incomplete)
If the solution is x1 and x2,
the equation must be able to transform into this form:
(x-x1)(x-x2)=0
<=>
xx-(x1+x2)x+(x1)(x2)=0
so
xx-(2+3i+2-3i)x+(2+3i)(2-3i)=0

#1040 Re: Help Me ! » I just want a hint (Limits & Calculus) » 2006-11-03 14:25:00

Well, but I am a little bit confused, is the final result 1/2 ???

#1041 Re: Help Me ! » I need help » 2006-11-03 14:21:17

It is supposed to be concerning some famous theorem :lol

#1042 Re: Help Me ! » Decimal Calculation » 2006-11-03 14:16:43

4x^3?
to make it simplier, can you rewrite "×10^5" as "EXP5" ?

#1043 Re: Help Me ! » Find X » 2006-11-03 14:09:44

you want results so early that you pass on essential mid procedures. You should name the important points first, otherwise other people may not understand you.
The second one, the solution is:
name the points like this
  A       C
       E
B          D

Apparently, <AEB=<CED
Since <BAD <BCD are facing the same arc (BD)
<BAD=<BCD
Thus △AED is similar to △CED
AE:CE=BE:DE
10:2=4x:8
2(4x)=10(8)
x=10
4x=40

Every murderer, every burgerler, and every rapist could state social context, shall we therefore forgive them?? We have to say they are responsible, and they had choices.

Ok, prove that statement then.

Congratulations, Ricky! Since now you could figure out logic clearly using verbal logic!

Basically you are right, in many fields determinism is sheer fallacy. Beyond principles and laws exist many exceptions. For instance, nothing is absolutely insulate. Physics is one of the few fields where scientist could find laws that interpret reality so well. Other fields, like social science, are subject to uncertainty. The man could have restrain from killing, or could have killed more.

Some psychologists emphasise the many causes behind the killing only to improve their knowledge. According to an extreme view, every crime is the result of society. But that's too irresponsible regarding our common sense. And paradoxy as well-since society is formulated by individuals, how can you regulate a society without regulating its members?

No, since Ancient Rome, Christian puppas have admitted some occasions for free will.(Philosophy, Microsoft Encarta Encyclopedia)

Acctually, free will does not play as a big part as people imagine. Only few of us could  enjoy its real benefits. And most of the time, free will is just a reason to punish that who did not bend to the person he/she now turns for help.

Celebrities would talk about how free will shaped them. Behind them are thousands of times more who bear the preach:" You chose it, you bear it!"

Usually I get a IQ of 120. Once I got a 136, but that doesn't count, for the average is 109.

So are we created? (The Movie Series "Matrix "and Existentialism)

It's not allowed. Rather, it's because the creator has the power to destroy the creation as well.
