Scientists have announced they've made microneedles. Needles that are microscopic and when put against the skin feels only like sandpaper. They say in about 5 years they'll be able to mail them out so people can do it themselves safely and efficently. Any thoughts?

bobbym that's it you're a genius! We get a rug, move it to the oil spill pipe, put it on the spill and tie some string around it, and Tada! The oil spill's fixed!

wow! that's great Mathisfun! Now all you need to do wait about a year and you'll have plenty of people registered!

#31 Re: Dark Discussions at Cafe Infinity » Make proposals to stopping the oil leakage in the mexican gulf » 2010-07-11 12:04:45

very true bobbym! I think that they should try every soulution given to them. I though would rather want more advice on plugging it than cleaning it up, but that's just what I think. I think ultimately BP will decide if they want to be open to ideas or behind close doors doing what they think is right for the company.

#32 Re: Dark Discussions at Cafe Infinity » Make proposals to stopping the oil leakage in the mexican gulf » 2010-07-11 03:52:40

I'd be kind of scared of bacteria cleaning up an oil spill! Man-eating bacteria! tongue

#33 Re: Dark Discussions at Cafe Infinity » Make proposals to stopping the oil leakage in the mexican gulf » 2010-07-09 09:24:00

Hopefully the oil will be plugged at the earliest date. I just feel sorry for all those people who make a living in the water! sad

#34 Re: Dark Discussions at Cafe Infinity » Make proposals to stopping the oil leakage in the mexican gulf » 2010-07-09 09:08:30

yeah but it'll take alot of time and money to clean up the entire Gulf coast. If I was BP at this point, I'd try anything that could work.

#35 Re: Dark Discussions at Cafe Infinity » Make proposals to stopping the oil leakage in the mexican gulf » 2010-07-06 16:07:09

OK let's get back to the propasals!
I say that they go down, make an incision, and put liquid nitrogen or liquid helium into the oil! Once it's frozen they begin to freeze it more and more until the whole well is atleast calm until they can find a stronger and more reliable way like  more relief wells smile

#36 Re: Dark Discussions at Cafe Infinity » Make proposals to stopping the oil leakage in the mexican gulf » 2010-07-06 05:26:00

They say that about (i believe) 1.5 billion gallons of oil is in the resevoir , so we're talking about 2 years of gushing oil and by then it'll reach places like Europe and the whole ocean will be tainted. But that's just a projection.

#37 Re: Dark Discussions at Cafe Infinity » Make proposals to stopping the oil leakage in the mexican gulf » 2010-07-04 12:51:37

hmmm you may have a point bobbym, but i guess we'll have to let the chips fall where they may.

#38 Re: Dark Discussions at Cafe Infinity » Make proposals to stopping the oil leakage in the mexican gulf » 2010-07-04 11:49:53

Yes and BP will be an example of what happens to selfish oil companies who would rather stuff money in their pillow than worry about the people and the wildlife they would hurt along with it.

#39 Re: Dark Discussions at Cafe Infinity » Make proposals to stopping the oil leakage in the mexican gulf » 2010-07-04 11:28:35

I believe one of these two things will end up with BP(after the oil spill)
1.They will recover but any revenues they make will be like 20% of what they were used to.
2. Bp's stock value and revenues will tumble so badly the company will go bankrupt and cease to exist

#40 Re: Dark Discussions at Cafe Infinity » Make proposals to stopping the oil leakage in the mexican gulf » 2010-07-04 07:30:00

Well If you want to wait 10 years before the oil gets cleaned up again!
BP I'm sure wouldn't do that becase if they did the American people and government would shut it out forever and it's reputation would be destroyed.

#41 Re: Dark Discussions at Cafe Infinity » Make proposals to stopping the oil leakage in the mexican gulf » 2010-07-04 07:24:02

I would think clean up one part of the Gulf, sanction it off, and then clean up the rest. Of course, it's just a theory.

#43 Re: Dark Discussions at Cafe Infinity » Make proposals to stopping the oil leakage in the mexican gulf » 2010-07-03 14:21:54

Well I can't argue on those terms bobbym smile
but that brings another question of when oil's plugged how are you going to restore all of the ocean habitats and species hurt by the oil spill?

Don't worry Mathisfun these are free online websites smile
You can get more people and the only thing it will cost you is a few minutes!
Be careful though once you get sucked into social networking sites it's hard to get out neutral

#45 Re: Dark Discussions at Cafe Infinity » Make proposals to stopping the oil leakage in the mexican gulf » 2010-07-03 11:38:41

LQ is right bobbym that's very high even if you sell them that way it'll be way less than what you sell them for and your profits be less than the oil itself.
Besides, why would you want to own a company that is responsible fo the worst oil spill in U.S. history and a company's who stocks are plummeting terribly smile

#46 Re: Dark Discussions at Cafe Infinity » Make proposals to stopping the oil leakage in the mexican gulf » 2010-07-02 08:27:05

sounds good in theory LQ smile
actually all of these proposals are pretty good and well-thought.
However, there is still the question of whether or not you will be able to achieve this deep underwater with a robot and risking lots of money if it fails.
