Interesting pictures. Took me a while to decipher. Thought it was written in some kind of code - Silly me. Nice images though, ryos. ^_^

Some mathematical news for those that are bored. Most of it is about famous mathematicians and mathematics across the country. However, a good majority of the site offers education (in general worldwide mathematical sense) about present mathematicians, and those that are deceased (they shall be missed ). Some interesting news there, I haven't found another website like this yet. Some of it may not be suitable for young children, though (well I could be wrong). Some of it is rather dull, but then again, maths is fun when you want it to be fun.
Sounds quite good, and worthwhile, as MathsIsFun stated. How exactly does this work, and where can we go to access more information on this subject? I am eager to learn more, as you rarely get this kind of thing (or so I am told).
The link doesn't work for me. Maybe seeing as it is news and it is 25 days old? :\
Sounds interesting though. Maybe I can research this elsewhere.
This could be published in books - Nowadays they don't publish as many math puzzles in books as t hey used to! With the exception os Sudoku, of course.
Anyway, I can imagine it...Issue 17, NerdSearch. A nice image and a catchy slogan (optional) on the front and I think it would sell! Maybe MathsIsFun could publish a book with NerdSearch puzzles in it, and possibly some variations?
It's all a dream, but it does seem possible.
Just out of interest - Has anyone come up with or composed a piece of music relative to pi? Many have tried for a way to remember it by music. The music sounds like absolute nonsense when you think of it as B A C A C# F....(and so on). B A C A C# F = 3.14159
So, has anyone come up with a piece of music relative to pi?
I hate myspace - I use the cheapest domain possible. But most of the time, I use free .com domains that come with 1 or more MySQL Databases, POP3 accounts and at least 1 FTP account. Oh, and PHP/HTML scripting. I don't mind ads, as long as the pixels don't take up too much of my space. Those are hard to find. >_>
EDIT: Wait a minute, I'm talking about the wrong thing!
Yeah, the restrictions and limitations of computer usage should be reduced immensely...if not, I foresee a long list of complaints from students!
Yeah, MathsIsFun's Sudoku puzzles are quite good. Fun to solve!
SudoKoach - ftp://kmrconsulting.com/sudokoach/sudokoach.zip
Excellent for Sudoku-ers. From Very Easy to Impossibly Hard...
Nice detailing! A job well done.
This is quite useful for people who are saving up for things, and for practice on money problems. It pretty good!
Yeah, I used to play his games a few years back, from PhpbbAmod. There are some nice math/logic-type games there.
Just posted an excercise on probability.
I might post some topics on histogram excercises and sampling excercises when I get the time.
Basic Probability Excercises
Basic probability, as the title states. There are quite fun to do. Have fun!
1. Two dice are rolled. The events 'obtaining a six with the first die' and 'obtaining an even number with the second die' are independent. True or False?
2. A box contains 7 red balls and 4 white balls. Two balls are taken out and not replaced. The events 'the first ball is red' and 'the second ball is white' are independent. True or False?
3. A bag contains 3 green counters and 6 black counters. A counter is taken from the bag, its colour noted, and then replaced. A second counter is then taken from the bag. The events 'the first counter is green' and 'the second counter is black' are independent. True or False?
A bag contains 2 red beads and 3 black beads. Two beads are taken from the bag without replacement.
Please enter your answer as a decimal as illustrated in the diagram.
4. P = ?
5. Q = ?
6. R = ?
7. S = ?
8. What is the probability that both beads are the same colour?
9. What is the probability of obtaining exactly one red bead?
10. What is the probability of obtaining at least one red bead?

(BTW, there's always more riddles to discuss on page 1! )
Nice program, good interface. Maybe add subtraction and division? Or maybe using those four operations with 3 numbers or more?
On the whole, it's pretty good.
Maybe we could try and solve the riddles I posted on page 1?
Pythagoras' Picnic sounds good. ^_^
Brainiating Brainstorm?
I tried for good alliteration and failed...
Sorry, meant 45a and 45b instead of 42a and 42b...
http://www.mathsisfun.com/percentage.html - Some good explanations.
The questions are still hanging in the air, BTW!
