Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

That is a little on the mercenary side but it is typical of girls in general.

In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them.
I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it.

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

I hope she is aware no one is going to buy from her at that price. The whole point of getting books from people who have just finished their first year is to get it at a discounted price.

I agree. Does she have glossing in it?

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

At that price, one would assume so, complete with Haggarty's signature.

Come to think of it, I'm not sure if she gave it much thought. At our last meeting, I casually asked her if she was selling any of her old first-year textbooks, and her response was that she bought it from Amazon for £45 so she is selling it for that price.

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

Haggarty? Well if it is full of bits of wisdom from her then it is surely worth £80 or £90.

I could e-mail her about it but she could easily reply coldly.

I would suggest not mentioning it at all. Hunt for the book on the net.

That is cheaper than this page I just left.

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

I have around £24 in Amazon vouchers, but I am wondering if it is best to wait for my library card to be activated and hunt for it before it is gone.

They say you don't need to buy any books for the course, but it is recommended that you do as they are a good supplement if you do not understand everything in the lectures.

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

It may not be available in the library when you get there. Over here students take books out for the entire year meaning they are unavailable to everyone else. But you should check first.

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

I will go check on Monday -- it would be nice if they activated my ID now, so I can reserve the books... (I think)

Do you think having the book in PDF format is a reasonable substitute for the real thing?

That would be the cheapest alternatib\ve and you also might be able to find the teacher's edition.

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

There is a second year mathematician who lives literally opposite me in the halls. How lucky is that?! Only 2 mathmos in the whole residence, and we are both next to each other. He says he can lend them to me for a couple of weeks, hopefully I can buy them off him.

You were right about the girls approaching. I did not expect it. I got to the lecture theatre early and ended up being the first person there. A few minutes later, girl comes and sits right next to me and I get her number. And get this -- she went to the same school as adriana... they were in the same class, in fact. This could be a good thing, or a bad thing...
