Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaSo, they are going to stock the fridge for you? In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it. All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof. #11877 20130806 08:54:07
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaNo, I don't think so they give us a shelf, we buy stuff to fill it with. The trouble is I don't know how big the 'shelf' is! #11878 20130806 08:55:00
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaOh, I see. Can you ask someone? In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it. All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof. #11879 20130806 08:57:51
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaI think it depends on the accommodation you get allocated some will be better than others. It could be that they give me one of the bad ones where you don't get a fridge at all and have to share a bathroom with 40 other people... but fingers crossed that doesn't happen. #11880 20130806 09:03:22
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaWill they let you take a look at your accomodations before you get there? In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it. All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof. #11881 20130806 09:05:08
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaI hope so. I think I will generally be happy with most of what they can offer (unless it is literally the worst one). Worst case scenario I will have to live with my parents for a bit but that does mean they'll take some of my maintenance grant away which is not so nice. #11882 20130806 09:08:16
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaHopefully, it will work out for the best. I understand you will be by yourself at least? In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it. All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof. #11883 20130806 09:18:29
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaI told them I didn't want to share with anyone so they'll have to offer me a single flat or studio or something. I'm not sure what happens if they run out of singles though, maybe I would have to share with someone. Thankfully I have a friend also going to UCL who I might be able to share with but I haven't talked to him about that. #11884 20130806 09:21:34
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaI admire your sense of detachment about those numbers. I kept numbers for decades. In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it. All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof. #11885 20130806 09:33:53
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaDid you ever call them after that amount of time? #11886 20130806 09:35:43
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaOne called me after 78 years. What a treat! In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it. All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof. #11887 20130806 09:37:49#11888 20130806 09:40:44
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaShe called to tell me how thoughtful I am! In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it. All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof. #11889 20130806 09:44:16#11890 20130806 09:46:12
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaAfter we had some type of weird breakup I still sent her a card on her birthday. After 78 of them she finally called to tell me what a thoughtful person I am. In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it. All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof. #11891 20130806 09:51:16#11892 20130806 09:54:13
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaBecause she had given me a lot of pleasure and I still had feelings for her. In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it. All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof. #11893 20130806 09:59:54
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaOh, I see. She just called for that reason alone, nothing more? #11894 20130806 10:05:39
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaI figure she wanted a bunch of things but I would not give her anything that she hoped for. It made her belligerent which always is the cutest thing about them. In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it. All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof. #11895 20130806 20:21:08#11896 20130806 20:26:57
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaI wish they would try that now?! In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it. Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaI have no more money! In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it.
