Tell her to drink the alcohol instead.

If you tried your best then you did what you could.

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

Allergies annoyed me more than anything. I sneezed all over my paper, almost choked on my own mucus. Lost a bit of time as a result. But it's all over now!

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

Those STEP questions were very tough. You have plenty of time to lead a full and great life.

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

I am very much looking forward to university... but at the same time it feels sad. I spent so much time doing 400 STEP questions... every day this year was spent doing that. Now that it is over, it feels like I am free but I still want to do intensive mathematics!

So what is stopping you? I presume you like some branches more than others. Dig right in!

I just don't want to burn myself out before uni starts...

I wonder how Hannah is doing, she hasn't spoken to be since early April. She took STEP too, apparently.

Sorry, I got confused. I remember her now. I would say you are long overdue on moving in on that one.

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

I'm not interested in pursuing though, just to talk to people. I've gone off women for a while.

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

Sounds like you will be drinking some of that alcohol with that attitude. Email her if you want to talk to her. They love to talk. Of course, it will be about their new purse, the nail they broke, Brad Pitt or some other useless hunk...

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

If it gets boring or most of the conversation ends up revolving around her, then I'll just ignore her. I think a combination of exam stress, hayfever and boredom with women has led me to not feel like pursuing them -- perhaps the recharging process will require some passive mathematics and talking to them.

Passive mathematics? You must be talking about Group Theory.

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

UCL have given me a reading list, and also some problems to solve, but the problems seem pretty easy... just practicing A-level material it looks like. The Mathematical Methods module seems easier than STEP!

The way it is taught and what they concentrate on, I would say extremely boring.

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

I always liked integration and infinite series. I found the proving that a series converges to be boring and unimaginative. I got into Numerical analysis because I was interested in finding what the sum converged to not just whether it converged or not.

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

I like integration and series too. I don't really have much experience with a CAS but I find them pretty fun to manipulate. There was a pretty interesting series in my STEP III paper that was pretty darn hard. The problem-solving aspect of it is what I like best... have you seen the I + J integration trick? It seems almost trivial but it blew my mind that you could solve an integral that way.
