Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaI just had that happen to me in the store. Seems I can not go anywhere without trouble. In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it. All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof. #11477 20130622 04:18:31#11478 20130622 04:37:20
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaI was doing some shopping in the local supermarket and a gorgeous babe is walking towards me... She was so beautiful my jaw hit the ground. I hope I was not salivating like some wild beast anyway she says "do you know where the sal min is?" I said "you mean the salmon," she says, "yea that is it. Can you help me?" I am just about to say something clever like, I never eat any of that but I know where the chicken is. In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it. All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof. #11479 20130622 04:47:07
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaDo girls like it when things like that happen? #11480 20130622 04:52:55
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaObviously, she enjoyed seeing him angry and me worrying about my life that she so magnanimously spared. In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it. All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof. #11481 20130622 06:41:59
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaAre most men like that with their women overprotective? #11482 20130622 06:44:46
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaHe sure was. I was way too old for her and he should realize that I was not bothering her. If he feels nervous about me he is really in trouble. In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it. All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof. #11483 20130622 08:01:03
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaIt would be so much simpler if it were not just a game. #11484 20130622 16:32:51
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaA hideous creature I know once told me life was a game. In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it. All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof. #11485 20130622 18:05:23#11486 20130622 18:09:46
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaGames have rules and goals. It suggests actual methods to use on them. In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it. All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof. #11487 20130622 21:10:38#11488 20130622 21:23:03
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaJust enjoy the process. Have a good time despite what happens or whether you have had as much success as you would like. Get to like talking to them. They are very different than we are and that can be a lot of fun in itself. In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it. All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof. #11489 20130623 02:01:11
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaIt just feels exhausting talking to them. At the moment I feel like focusing my efforts on mathematics. I honestly can't wait to go to university so I can stop doing these stupid school exams and actually learn mathematics. #11490 20130623 02:07:10
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaI do agree about the exams. But how else can they test you? In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it. All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof. #11491 20130623 02:08:40
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaI am not criticising the exam system, I just do not like it. #11492 20130623 02:10:19
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaAll be over soon. Lots of exams over there too. Sometimes I watch the people get so frantic around exam time you can sense the fear everywhere. In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it. All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof. #11493 20130623 02:18:44
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula4 days to go. STEP I, STEP III, and one pesky maths exam to do. #11494 20130623 02:19:41
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaThen you are done for sure? In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it. All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof. #11495 20130623 02:32:23
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaYep, then it is all done. Then adriana and Hanh will quit whining. #11496 20130623 03:25:02
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaThey are whining? About what? In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it. All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof. #11497 20130623 03:47:49
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaSTEP II was last Wednesday and it was a bit tricky. I think I scored about 75ish which should be a grade 1. Hanh said she scored about 45 (a 2 or 3, so she will not meet her Cambridge offer), and adriana said it went horribly and she attempted just 3 questions, getting just one full solution, so a mark of about 35, which is either a 3 or a fail. adriana needs a grade 2 in either STEP I, II or III for Warwick and Hanh needed a 1,1 in STEP II and III. So they are whining because they messed up. #11498 20130623 03:57:54
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaDid you remind her that had she been nicer to you she would have got good grades too? In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it. All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof. #11499 20130623 04:00:59
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaNo... didn't really feel like saying something like that either given that I am not interested in her anymore. #11500 20130623 04:02:00
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaSo you are more interested in listening to them whine? I used to charge! In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it. All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof.
