Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

Could last a very long time in that state. Weeks is not out of line.

In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them.

I agree with you regarding the satisfaction and importance of actually computing some numbers. I can't tell you how often I see time and money wasted because someone didn't bother to run the numbers.

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

Really?

Hmm, I suppose if one made a soup that was extremely varied with many ingredients in it, one could spend a day making lots of it and then eat just that, and perhaps eat something with it on the side to diversify it a bit.

Student life would be very, very easy.

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

I freeze it for a long time sometimes. At least that long. Rice is a good additive. Half a cup is a lot to eat. Costs about 40 cents a pound over here. Sometimes I get it on sale a little bit better than that.

I still can't get my head around the rice in soup thing...

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

You make the rice separate else it would drag up all the soup. After the rice and soup are both made you can add some of the rice to the soup.

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

Do you eat a lot of rice? And what is this secret ingredient you speak of?

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

Yes, I eat a lot of rice, but not in soup.

The secret ingredient is a secret. If I told you, it would give you an 80% chance of knowing where I was from.

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

If you feel brave you can try a little bit of it in the soup, you might like it.

Hmmm, 80%. That is a little high for me. Okay, then it must stay a secret.

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

Maybe something to try as a student living on my own experimenting with cheap food sources. That is, if I even get a kitchen.

You never know, I may be reduced to licking stucco off the walls and gorging myself over moss scrapings one day.

I am sure they will give you a kitchen.

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

I would most likely have to share it though. I hope I get given an ensuite, then I will not have to share a toilet or kitchen so no risk of people stealing my food or making a delightful, smelly mess in the morning to get my day going.

I know what you mean. You will have to endure it. But maybe it will not happen exactly as you are thinking.

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

Yes, part of the fun will be discovering what it is like. Maybe I will even become so engrossed in mathematics that I will forget about girls completely!

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

That is not likely unless you are Isaac Newton. You will learn to deal with them too. Everything is tough in the beginning.

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

As a distraction, I planned to hit the ground running at the start of my degree and maybe start doing some exam papers for UCL over the holidays... they look interesting, not as hard as STEP questions but interesting nonetheless.

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

I was planning to try to learn everything I need for first year over the summer, so that I can be a bit more relaxed during time and maybe learn some of the maths I like to learn.

I never really got my teeth into your GFology book... that is on my reading list for sure!

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

Is that because it is of bible length or it is a difficult read?

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

It is a difficult read. The first couple of chapters is easy enough after that he gets obtuse.
