### Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

DEs? Those are normally pretty easy... I am assuming there is some cruel twist to them.

### Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

You should be able to go through those.

In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them.

I agree with you regarding the satisfaction and importance of actually computing some numbers. I can't tell you how often I see time and money wasted because someone didn't bother to run the numbers.

### Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

Hmm, they are not my favourite but I'll give them a 2-minute skim to see if it is worth doing them -- but of course I will try to get the easy ones out the way first (DEs). The grade boundaries are:

S - 84/120
1 - 65/120
2 - 53/120
3 - 32/120

They do not look easy and there are parts.

### Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

If I had to guess one of them is probably about transforming a DE into another using some obscure substitution, then the last part probably gives you a DE and expects you to use a similar substitution...?

The first question is the DE's They want you to solve one and it looks okay.

### Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

The first question supposedly has a massive typo in it that resulted in lots of candidates losing time...

### Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

You are reading the examiner reports?

I find some of them pretty funny but some also quite condescending, calling candidates pathetic and other things...

### Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

That is OK, I am guilty of that too.

A bit annoyed at the moment -- started my STEP III 2012 mock and my sister came in my room and I had to do something for her which took about half an hour. No more exam conditions for this paper anymore...
