Which is the better option, anyway. I won't get another chance at STEP, whereas I probably will have more chances with girls (just not in the near future).

That is a decision you will have to make for yourself.

**I agree with you regarding the satisfaction and importance of actually computing some numbers. I can't tell you how often I see time and money wasted because someone didn't bother to run the numbers.**

adriana finally replied;

"Hey sorry I've taken so long to reply. How are you? Have you been revising this holiday? I am so incredibly bored of studying I don't know how I'll get through university. Just kidding, it'll be great. Anyway, I've just gone through the emails you sent about the gamma and beta functions. That beta function is bloody brilliant! I haven't had a chance yet to do the substitution myself but I will.

I'm also so happy that physics coursework is out of the way. What a relief!"

There are no young girls geographically close to you?

What good would Geographic proximity do when there are e-mails?

E-mail has its physical limitations... there is only so much you can do with a person via text.

Maybe you can use video chat?

Or play a multiplayer game together?

I don't have any sort of microphone/web-cam to do that unfortunately, occasionally we work on STEP questions together however.

As you have to spend a lot of time preparing for your exams, text messages are preferable as they do not bear the temptation of spending a lot of time and they would relieve you from the stress too

I agree, although the e-mails can be a distraction too, so I may have to cut down on those.

You might just have to do that.

I don't get many e-mails nowadays though -- so I may not have to make much of an effort.

If you do not answer them you will get even less.

It is not a nice idea to not reply

I am getting so few these days, it should not make too much of a difference... adriana did reply today though, so maybe we might start talking quite a bit again. We will see. She should be returning from therapy now.

What was she in therapy about?

She used to be depressed and had two eating disorders. I saw the cut marks on her arm. I didn't say anything at the time, I had no idea she did that in the past.

Hopefully, she now feels better.

She said she's not like that anymore, but it could explain why she felt so comfortable around me so early on.

I do not understand. If the problem was in the past why is she now in therapy?

I am assuming she means she has almost recovered. She tells me in therapy these days she just discussions issues that are on her mind (like losing her virginity, which I'm guessing she did with her BF in Cyprus).

Sounds like she may need more than a therapist.

If this has been a long standing problem then what good are they doing for her?

Well, given that she is no longer cutting her arm up, I'd say that the therapy has been successful... I do not know much about the fear of intimacy, she only mentioned that to me once.
