Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaI think you will find someday that being poor as you are now was the best time of your life. Not because of being poor but because you have a family that is close. I can remember it too... In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it. All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof. #9602 20130328 23:05:47
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaYes, I will miss it when I am gone... #9603 20130329 10:17:18
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaBusy day. had to go shopping twice. Forgot half of what I needed. In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it. All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof. #9604 20130329 18:53:50
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaThat happens to us too, although my parents have no problem sending me out at midnight looking for bread... #9605 20130329 19:14:08
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaPappym used to do that to me to get things from the hardware store. In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it. All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof. #9606 20130329 19:33:04
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaHmm, I guess now that I am old enough to buy anything from the hardware store, they may start to do that too... #9607 20130329 19:39:08
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaIt was pretty far from home and in those days you did not go off your block. To do so meant to be in a fight with the kids who lived on the other block. My father did not quite understand the way the neighborhood worked. In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it. All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof. #9608 20130329 19:44:24
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaIt doesn't work like that in my area I don't think (unless I am completely ignorant)... although near my school it used to be. #9609 20130329 19:49:44
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaThings were more territorial back then. To a large degree it is still like that here. But the areas have widened out. In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it. All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof. #9610 20130329 19:56:18
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaIt felt like that when travelling all the way to adriana's house. People were very different. Did not feel as comfortable as I would have liked. #9611 20130329 19:58:55
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaClass is also a big partitioner of neighborhoods. In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it. All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof. #9612 20130329 20:17:34
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaYes, it is obvious that people in her area have a lot of money, compared to my area. I am lucky that I got my own bedroom at 13! Normally I wouldn't get one until I moved out. #9613 20130329 20:18:42
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaThere were three of us in one bedroom when I was that age too. In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it. All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof. #9614 20130329 20:23:20
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaThinking back, I am amazed that I felt comfortable in such a small place. And when my sister came along I think it was obvious that we had to move out, 4 people in one bedroom (that bedroom, anyway) would have been impossible. #9615 20130329 20:30:23
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaAre you going to move soon or will you stay home? In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it. All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof. #9616 20130329 20:47:23
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaIt depends. My housing association says I will have to realistically wait a few years before being able to get my own flat with them, so my options for next year are either stay at home or go to student accommodation at UCL... #9617 20130329 20:48:29
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaHi; In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it. All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof. #9618 20130329 21:03:30
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaNo, it is very competitive to get housing in this country, so I will be on the waiting list for several years before getting a flat, just like everyone else unfortunately some housing associations are so bad, that some people can end up on the waiting list for their whole life without getting anywhere. My parents were on that one until we moved to another housing association. #9619 20130329 21:12:52
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaI did not know that. We have homeowners associations that are awful but they are for homeowners. Renting here allows us to move freely but finances keep us where we are. In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it. All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof. #9620 20130329 21:27:55
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaMaybe it is different for different housing associations, I am not sure... #9621 20130329 21:30:26
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaI am going to make something to eat. I will be back in a while. In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it. All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof. #9622 20130329 21:46:33#9623 20130329 22:21:33
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaThat was pretty good. I bought some ingredients for a pretty good soup. They were on sale! You will be happy to know that this girl that I have my eye on was mean to me. In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it. All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof. #9624 20130329 22:30:28
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaWhy is that good news? Isn't the opposite better? #9625 20130329 22:32:09
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaIt will help you to see that it happens to other people too. In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it. All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof.
