Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

He may be deceased now.

In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them.

I agree with you regarding the satisfaction and importance of actually computing some numbers. I can't tell you how often I see time and money wasted because someone didn't bother to run the numbers.

His Wiki page doesn't say anything about his death, although it doesn't give his exact birth date either, just the year.

Last I heard he was at the IAS.

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

What is that?

Trying to resist the urge to call adriana and ask her if I can see her this weekend, but I know I shouldn't... I hope I do not do something stupid.

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

Princeton.

I do not think that is a good idea.

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

Luckily I did not do it, I stopped as soon as I turned my phone on.

I have heard Princeton is a nice uni for maths, I didn't apply to American unis though. The process would have been a bit too much.

There is the University and there is the IAS.

IAS is for grad students?

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

No, it is the Institue for Advanced Study. It is located in NJ and you have to be sent there.

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

Oh, I see. I know that a lot of postgrad students like to go to the US especially if the funding is better. Our prime minister in London is making lots and lots of cuts. You have probably heard of the huge rise in tuition fees in the UK...

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

Most students like to go to the US because they know they can party enthusiastically until they drop. A few come for an education.

Sorry to hear that you have leaders that are almost as dumb as the ones over here.

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

I am surprised that adriana didn't apply there, if that is the case. Perhaps she will consider a postgrad in the US...

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

Few enforced laws, tons of drugs, parties every day, it does seem to suit her.

Of course it would. She is a party animal.

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

Maybe she has been partying for the past two weeks non-stop, hence has been unable to talk to me.

(Although we all know what the reality of the situation is.)

I am afraid I do not.

I would not say 2 weeks, more like 5 years. You do not know anything about her really.

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

Yes, only a little -- although she claims that I know everything about her.

I thought that the most likely scenario was that she realised that she had a loving boyfriend in Cyprus who could pseudo-hold her at night, and commence pseudo-intimacy with her, thus seeing no purpose for me anymore so she has left me behind. Either that, or she is the laziest person I have ever met.

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

It is true that you were discarded but could it really be for Cyprus boy? She mentioned that she was going to have a male friend take her to some club when you declined. There is almost assuredly someone like him or her close by, probably several.

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

I think the Cyprus boy is the most likely person... although maybe if she is supposedly becoming strictly faithful to her BF, then maybe she does not want to go to the strip club anymore.

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

Most likely she already went with her new bf/gf. It is unwise to ever assume moderation about such people. They have an insatiable thirst for those type of experiences. But you are being nosey, she is not in your life, she is not your resposibility.

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

Hmm, so I guess I must discard her, then. Unless she does something totally strange to change my mind but I know I have to be very detached from whatever that might be, if it does happen (which is very unlikely, at this stage).

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

She does not want to be your friend right now. I would try to forget about her and move on. You are way too young to be living in the past, everything is in front of you.

If she comes back you can make a decision then. There is no decision now, there is nothing to analyze.
