Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

Cruelty is exciting to lots of people. For some reason it makes some people feel good when others feel bad. Especially when they are responsible. This is people in general not just girls.

In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them.

I agree with you regarding the satisfaction and importance of actually computing some numbers. I can't tell you how often I see time and money wasted because someone didn't bother to run the numbers.

Reminds me of that movie, Let The Right One In.

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

Heck, movies are the modern form of literature. Lots of people do not take them seriously. But today's writers and producers are stating their viewpoint much like novelists of the past.

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

I think I remember Tarantino talking a bit like that... he was given a lot of flak by some journalist for his work.

I like some of his movies very much.

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

Me too, although I have yet to watch some of his classics like Kill Bill.

I did send adriana two long mathsy e-mails, complete with worked examples about the gamma and beta functions, before this 10-day wait. Do you think that she doesn't want to reply, because she does not want to be impolite and ignore those long e-mails? I did the same to R when she wrote long, long e-mails.

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

The Kill Bills are classics. He is a very imaginative though weird guy.

Her worried about being impolite? I do not think so. It is impolite not to respond.

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

And I am 18 now, so I can legally watch it (not that I would have obeyed the age restriction anyway)...

It was an abrupt end, anyway. I would have liked to have ended on a nice, even number of e-mails, like 700. Instead we are stuck on 689.

Nothing to be done about that. Perhaps she wanted to end on 689?

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

Hmm, she doesn't keep count like I do.

No one has yet been able to challenge H's mighty record of 1652.

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

There are still some contenders for the title, but they are a long way off. The standings:

H - 1652
adriana - 689
(my friend) - 575
Hanh - 483
Holly - 82
PJ - 81
Katie - 63
R - 43
Hannah - 40
F - 8

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

Amazingly all the other girls' combined e-mail counts are still less than H's. That was some dedication.

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

That would be the smart thing to do but it is not always possible. Take F for instance, if she found a guy like herself they would constantly be crossing the street to avoid meeting.

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

I suppose it depends on the personality type. For F, that would probably not work out well.
