What?! Are you joking? You mean, I am going to have this for the rest of my life?

Had I known I'd have these problems I would not have done so much running as a child. Feels like my joints have just been ground down with a pumice stone.

It may stay with you in one form or another. We have to pay for every moment of joy with a year of pain.

**In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them.**

**I agree with you regarding the satisfaction and importance of actually computing some numbers. I can't tell you how often I see time and money wasted because someone didn't bother to run the numbers.**

Just think of it like this. After your twenties, it is all downhill.

Thankfully I am only 18; just over half-way past the good parts?

You wish to see it go that fast? To age and grow old and possibly ill? To die?

No, I would like to stay young a little longer, with fewer responsibilities.

Hmmm, that you can only do in your mind. Consider that the next 10 - 12 years will be a blur.

It seems like a long time but I know it will not be...

A blink of an eye best describes it.

This year is going by pretty quickly. Hard to believe we are in March already...

Nothing from adriana yet. I've been talking to Holly though.

What does she say?

We've stopped now, it was just about maths, what unis she's applying to, etc. and a comment my chemistry teacher made that maths is just a bunch of assumptions.

Hmmmm, he is being a little on the vague side. The axioms can be viewed like that but math is also built up from theorems.

He was just looking for a way to rubbish maths again.

I take it he is not a fan of mathematics.

No one is a fan of mathematics at my school.

Why is that?

Boring teachers are probably one reason.

Do they teach it well enough or is it poorly taught over there?

My school is not that good, the teachers do not teach it well. They just copy an example from the textbook on to the board and then tell them to do the rest of the exercise.

Another reason I did every maths module possible last year was so I wouldn't have to stand being in a maths class the next year...

Over here they have done an excellent job in convincing everyone not to learn any. People from all over the world have a hard time adding two numbers.

It has come to the stage where you are expected to be bad at it. Some people are proud of it! Pathetic maths, won't ever do anything for anybody. Especially when there are more important things to worry about like politics, football and Katie Price. Maths is a non-factor, should be disbanded what a joke.

That is pretty much the policy over here, except they beat kids who are stupid enough to carry math books or any book for that matter.

Hmm, they don't beat them over here, they seem to take no real notice...
