Well, that is why he went the route he did. He got passed listening to girls like her tell him how wonderful their bf's were. Fortunately for him, their bf's could not do science homework or repair cars as well as him.

What is really the difference between showering them with expensive gifts for intimacy or his approach? Know one was really hurt by his antics, the girls considered it a good trade, After all, take my gf for instance she was giving it away for nothing.

Of course that result can be rigorously obtained, but who cares?

Hmm, well his method does cut out all the dating formalities. I should have attempted to do this with adriana.

Or you can just become adept at spotting the signs of someone who is not interested in you.

How can someone sending 50 e-mails a day not be interested?

She was interested, I was just not the only one after her and got beaten to the game by the BF. I did correctly predict exactly this happening a month ago, however... but I don't think there was much I could have done about it.

That guy came before you. Because she was flirtatious that does not mean she was interested in you.

50 e-mails a day for 6 weeks in a row is just flirting?

Obviously, it was. She went all the way to Cyprus to visit the other guy, if he even exists. You just have to think that she is lying to you.

I still don't know how to tell if someone is interested in me, then... or, how to tell the difference between that and flirting.

It is difficult to tell without testing her reaction.

How do I test them?

In this case you were lucky again. She told you right where she stood. That is the first big clue. I told you then you should either drop her or continue as a friend provided you never became so fixated on a dead end. If you were going to and I think you knew that you would then you should have and still can drop her.

She didn't say that explicitly; she told me she had a BF and was trying to understand her sexuality, and that she'd go out with me if things were different. (Again, a vague statement on her part.) However, it is much clearer to me at this point in time that she is really not interested in me at all. I can still drop her, and I think I may already have to an extent...

If you are lucky she has dropped you. How can things be different? Can a person change their preference? Not likely.

Fact is it is your reaction that you should alter. If she were really just a friend would you care whether she emails you every day? Of course not.

You are the one who has to dump her in your mind. She is not yours to keep.

Well, I cannot dump her instantly. It is a long, slow process. And it is much easier if I find someone else to be interested in... that is how I normally move on.

That is how everybody moves on.

Nothing gets you over the last one like the next one.

Find another one!

In the meantime push her down to the level of the weakest friend you have that is a guy.

So in other words, never seeing her again?

That is a strong possibility. That happens at the end of a friendship. It is like death, the older you get the more of it you are going to see.

There was one advantage of seeing her though, good food and I got to go over some maths I'd learned in the past. And of course, the free condoms. But that is a far more material friendship.

People split up. Married people, dating people, relatives and friends. They sometimes interact with us for just a brief moment then they go their separate ways.

But me and adriana aren't going our separate ways until September.

Well, it will be an interesting experiment to see how she reacts to it. I will grab some popcorn.

What experiment? In my opinion she needs a brain transplant. They should put a human brain in there this time...
