Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

That is not nice. When I think of famous chefs know quite a few of them are male.

Hmm, Katie replied. She wants to know what kind of girl I like.

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

Did you tell her? I always had trouble answering that question.

In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them.
I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it.
All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof.

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

I gave a bit of a vague description (not specific), and posed the same question to her.

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

I used to use a canned answer to that question but it did not go over very well.

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

I used to say, "a girl like you" to her.

There is a tougher question that I also never came up with a good answer to.

Incidentally, it is good to see that at least some things have not changed in the thousands of years I have been living.

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

I sometimes think about saying that but instead I like to give hints at it, or sometimes frustrate her a bit to the point where she is basically asking the question "do you like ME?".

Tougher question?

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

I never thought about it much. I realized much later that it is a trick question. Either it is built in or their mother gives it to them.

Yes there is a tougher question. "Why do you like me?" That one was particularly hard for me to understand.

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

That is a hard one... but probably extremely common, with girls who have low self-esteem (like adriana). I have noticed her lack of confidence in her mathematics too.

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

As far as I could determine, and this is just my guess their need to be liked is the underlying reason for the partying.

This need to be liked is a direct consequence of their low self esteem and general lack of confidence.

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

She will probably get plenty of that from her 'BF' when she goes to Cyprus.

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

Yep.

I've also noticed the numbers of e-mails she's been sending me each day have been slowly decreasing. For 30, then about 20, then 11, and yesterday it was only 8.

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

Would be neat if there was a way to find the number of e-mails a person sends you per day in Hotmail... I can't just go by date either, because sometimes we stay up talking until 1 AM the next day.

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

That rough count suggests they are diminishing.

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

It could mean she is losing interest. It could be just settling down to something more realistic than 30 per day.

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

Either that or she is just busy preparing for her holiday. She leaves in 15 hours or so.

Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

She comes back from Cyprus on the 20th to London, but then she's off to Barcelona on the 21st and her birthday is on the 22nd. I don't know when she is back from Barcelona. But school starts back on Monday the 25th.
