Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaThat may end up happening with adriana but I can gain a lot from meeting up with her next week. I still need to determine if she really does like me (signs point to yes so far). I also don't want to become too emotionally attached. #6877 20130120 20:57:00
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaIn your case the experience will do you good. Many bad things can happen in a relationship. When it is all over and you are an old man you will be able to finally answer the question. In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it. All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof. #6878 20130120 21:49:39
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaThe experience is the reason I want to jumpstart things like this too. Having at least one before I go to uni would help. #6879 20130120 22:05:31
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaListen, you set it up as best you can after that it is out of your hands. Many things can go wrong. Hope for the best and expect the worst is a good maxim to live by. In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it. All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof. #6880 20130120 22:23:02
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaYes... and if the worst happens, then at least I have other girls as possibilities. But I know that I can't be picky. #6881 20130120 22:28:01
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaThe dates could actually happen and still things can go wrong. You never really know. A week is a long time, she can change her mind. Be ready for the unexpected. In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it. All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof. #6882 20130120 22:32:50#6883 20130120 22:49:19#6884 20130120 22:51:40
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaThanks! I'm hoping for the best and expecting the worst but the 6day wait is nervewracking. #6885 20130120 23:45:21
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formulahi zetafunc, You cannot teach a man anything; you can only help him find it within himself..........Galileo Galilei #6886 20130120 23:52:51
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaHi; In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it. All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof. #6887 20130121 00:00:33
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula
Going to her house to help with STEP; she hasn't done any questions yet... but I'm hoping that she knows I'm not there to help her with maths.
Thank you. I guess I am most worried about meeting her family. #6888 20130121 00:05:10
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaNever worry about the things you can do nothing about. Try being polite first, see if they want to reciprocate or want war. In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it. All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof. #6889 20130121 00:12:21#6890 20130121 02:17:36
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaI hope it will be okay. I googled her and found out that she has an older sister (early 20s), but I don't know anything else about her family. Who knows, maybe she will send her family out so we are alone. #6891 20130121 03:03:32
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaI've still been talking to adriana (so looks like we will be talking up until the 26th). She's just been asking me about why I want to go to UCL, where I'll live, etc... she seems to agree with everything I say. #6892 20130121 08:57:38
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaWhat is wrong with that? In the old days that was considered the perfect gal. In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it. All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof. #6893 20130121 08:59:48
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaI guess nothing is wrong with it, although if she disagrees with something I say, I suppose I'd want her to say it... at the moment we're just talking about random stuff, like being 18, or gap years. #6894 20130121 09:02:35
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaTwo people who do not agree very much can rarely be together. Even for a limited time. In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it. All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof. #6895 20130121 09:06:56
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaHmm, well, we seem to agree on everything so far. She also loves it when I tell her about maths; she said that as long as I keep talking about it, I could never bore her. Which is a good sign, I feel... #6896 20130121 09:14:38
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaI am not following you, this sounds perfect. You know what I would do? I would put on my camouflage paint, my bulletproof vest, my night vision goggles and grab a big burlap sack. Then I would sneak across town invisible to the ordinary human and throw her in the sack and take her home with me. That may be illegal in Britain, so check first. In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it. All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof. #6897 20130121 09:22:56
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaSounds good, I may try that. She is small so should be a snug fit. #6898 20130121 09:25:02
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaYes, they outlawed that in the US just last year. Something about human rights or something else. In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it. All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof. #6899 20130121 09:29:26
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaI've no idea why they'd do that, seems perfectly fine to me. #6900 20130121 09:57:54
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaYes, it is kind of late. In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it. All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof.
