Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaI doubt it. I wouldn't want to risk it... #6702 20130116 08:32:30
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaI understand, it does semm like a tough challenge. In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it. All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof. #6703 20130116 08:33:50
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaI am curious how F is finding the workload at Cambridge. She often left things to the last minute. #6704 20130116 08:34:47
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaShe is probably wishing you were around to help her. In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it. All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof. #6705 20130116 08:35:57#6706 20130116 08:41:09
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaWell maybe just your brain. You can send it to her in a jar. In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it. All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof. #6707 20130116 08:42:43
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaI think if anything F is probably afraid that she will see me next year at Cambridge. I didn't tell her that I'm going to UCL though. #6708 20130116 08:53:24
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaTell her you are going to Cambridge and want to be near here. She will explode. In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it. All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof. #6709 20130116 08:54:15
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaI thought I was never going to contact her again? #6710 20130116 08:54:39
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaCouldn't I get into trouble for emailing her that? She could claim harassment. #6711 20130116 09:00:02
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaI was just kidding. Leave her alone, she is not worth any effort. In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it. All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof. #6712 20130116 09:00:45
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaA year has passed and we are still discussing F... #6713 20130116 09:03:22
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaAs long as she stays in your mind, she is alive. You know that, that is why you will not let her go. Even though holding on to her is like holding on to a red hot bar of iron and refusing to drop it. In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it. All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof. #6714 20130116 09:06:09
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaYes, it is true, I do still think about her from time to time. #6715 20130116 09:07:37
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaHey, I thought about my two favorites for more that 15 years after they dumped me. In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it. All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof. #6716 20130116 09:09:20#6717 20130116 09:11:17
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaNope, night and day. Even sent one birthday cards for 10 straight years. In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it. All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof. #6718 20130116 09:11:48
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaDid you get into trouble? Did they ever respond? #6719 20130116 09:15:21
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaShe made a mistake and responded one time and I loved it. Told her off and would not shine her ego. In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it. All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof. #6720 20130116 09:16:54
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaI know what you mean. I still have F's emails (she sent me 8 and I sent her 16!)... I think she does come across as egotistical in some of them. #6721 20130116 09:18:53
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaThey are both egotistical and unsure at the same time. There ego is thin and can be cracked easily. One small comment or lack of can destroy their whole day. In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it. All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof. #6722 20130116 09:21:13
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaYes, I have seen this happen. A lot of girls get easily offended compared to guys who don't seem to get broken so easily. I am ashamed to say that I did stroke F's ego a bit and made her feel better. I knew what I was doing, I just wanted her to feel better, which was stupid. #6723 20130116 09:25:01
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaNothing wrong with that from your side, but then something happened that changed her mind. They are very fickle and can change minute to minute. In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it. All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof. #6724 20130116 09:27:33
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaIt all changed when I asked her what her plans for the summer were, and she ignored me after that. About 6 months prior to that she said "sorry I think you've misunderstood, I'll only talk to you about maths/uni applications only". I didn't think she meant it, she came across as so informal in recent emails. #6725 20130116 09:31:58
Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 FormulaShe is brutal, should be easy to forget about her. In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it. All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof.
