### Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

She is very, very unusual. Although I condone your moral idea it can sometimes cut down on legitimate chances.

In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them.
I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it.

That is how it is done. How else do you gain experience?

### Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

Well, some people wait for the right one. But, clearly, that will not happen for me, so I must adopt this kind of tactic.

### Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

Even in the old, old days guys never followed the policy of waiting for the right one. That is a philosophy more suited to girls than guys.

The great Johannes Kepler picked his wife from 12 candidates, each examined with every tool he could muster, even mathematics. Of course, he picked a bad one but he tried.

### Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

I wanted to wait for the right person too, but I don't even know how I will know who that is, so no sense in waiting.

How did he use mathematics to try to pick the right one?

### Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

Did anyone else try to do the same thing?

I also texted R for a bit this morning. Just wishing her a safe journey, a couple of jokes, etc. she is on her way to Amsterdam now. Katie also has not replied yet since last night, although this was our conversation:

------------

Me: Hello;

Is this Katie from the maths class? Apologies if I've got the wrong person, I just realised that I had the mailing list of people from that class in my inbox, thought it might be useful to keep in touch with some of you.

Katie: No, this is the right Katie

Me: Ah cool, was hoping I didn't message a complete stranger (that's happened before!).

How'd you find the session today, then?

Katie: No worries, I know the feeling- I once had a eight minute telephone conversation with a woman I thought was my grandmother.

I thought the session was quite good- I think I've seen some of the trig stuff before, but the questions he gave us to do are really interesting. What about you?

Me: Haha, how'd that happen?

Well, trig is not really my favourite, so I thought the last session was more interesting although a couple of the problems on the orange sheet were pretty nice. What are you doing in your maths lessons?

------------

It's not much but at least I am able to get a response out of her.

That is fine. Talk to her, the experience will do you good.

Okay. I am expecting a reply from her sometime today, anyway. I want to get her number eventually.

After some emails you can eventually ask. I would not rush it though.

### Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

Yes, I don't want to rush it.

If she doesn't reply though then it probably means I am low on her priority list so I'll forget about her, especially because I'm seeing her only 2-3 more times over the next 6 weeks, for a very short amount of time, and she lives very far away. There are other girls to think about.

I would not drop her unless she does first. You are forgetting about Helga and Inga. The modern gal is willing to travel an hour to see someone.

Yes, but if there is responses then you can at least keep her as a friend, despite the distance.

### Re: Linear Interpolation FP1 Formula

Well, we will see if she is talkative if she responds. F used to send a reply asking me a question, or telling me about what she did at a summer school. But after that, it would never been followed up, ever. So, I am not going to jump to any conclusions. As far as I am concerned, Katie could quite easily just be another F.
