Then what do you predict for 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017...?

**I agree with you regarding the satisfaction and importance of actually computing some numbers. I can't tell you how often I see time and money wasted because someone didn't bother to run the numbers.**

I cannot predict those. I was able to predict 2012 (and 2013) from my experience of being at school. But uni may be different.

I am glad you have some optimism about the future. Now just try to project some of that 2014 uncertainty into 2013 and 2012.

There is a lot less uncertainty for 2013. I am very familiar with my environment at the school.

There is uncertainty in physics and paradoxes in math. Crazy things happen in love too. Just watch for any chance that comes up that you would enjoy and take it.

I had that mindset going into 2012 -- when I first walked into my maths class I noticed some of the girls and told myself that by the end of the year I would like to go out with one of these girls. So I had some kind of motivation. But in 2013, I have none of that. Everything feels depleted.

How do you think I feel with only 2 girls out of 6000 at my school? Both of them turned me down by the way.

Okay, that is a lot worse.

(Surely that would not be allowed in this day and age?)

It gets worse. They were the easiest, hungriest girls in town. They went out and were intimate with everyone but me... I lost my friends because they began to tease me about being a loser.

That is a horrible story. It is things like that which puts me off dating women completely.

I was not that lucky or that smart to have dropped them forever. As hard as it is to believe, when you start having success with them that is when your failures begin.

So my failures have not yet begun?

Not yet, no. It is all downhill from here.

Remember Forest Gump? "Life is a beeg box of chawclates." He may have been a bonehead but he is the smartest guy in the movie.

I wish I could have a peek at some of the flavours.

F has her first lecture at Cambridge tomorrow.

Are you going to go?

What? No... I live in London. And I'd never consider it, since if I did she'd probably run away.

Although, that does bring up an interesting point -- Cambridge publishes their lecture timetables for maths on their website, including room details and times and everything. F will be in her second year next year, and I'd be in first year (if I got into the uni), so if I truly did want to meet with her, I could just wait outside the lecture room. But I do not think I would do that. Even though part of me still lusts for her, I know it will be futile. Unless she were more mature as a 20-year-old or something.

How do you know about the lecture?

You always check Cambridge's lecture schedules?

No, I was just curious when and how often the lectures are.
