Hint:

Not all of you may have heard of this person, but I assure you that it is not an obscure name. The point of this game is to have fun. Thus I don’t want to make it too easy (that wouldn’t be challenging, and therefore wouldn’t be fun) but neither do I want it to be too obscure. If it’s a name that nobody has ever heard of except for the player posing the challenge, that would not be fun except to the player posing the challenge. This was the unfortunate case in the previous game, in which one inconsiderate fool made everybody guess a name which nobody other than he himself has heard of. You can be sure I am not as antisocial as that twit.

Re: Q20

Jane, are you kidding? you seem to be coming down rather hard on devente. I agree he made that one a bit too hard and may have answered that one question improperly, but I don't think he did it to amuse himself at the expense of others. I'm not sure if thats enough to call him "idiot", "cheat","inconsiderate fool" and "twit". again I'm not sure if you're serious but... its sure beginning to look that way.

Re: Q20

uh oh. I think we need to clarify.

Jane, when you said she doesn't share your first name. Do you mean she doesn't share YOUR first name? Or she doesn't share your signature name? I'm not sure what mathsyperson meant.

Re: Q20

It is as I have written (whatever Mathsy meant). She does not share my first name.

Remember that I can only answer “yes” and “no”. It is everybody else’s job to make sure they only ask questions that can be unambiguously answered “yes” or “no”.

Re: Q20

Yes! yikes

Ann Radcliffe wrote the Gothic novel The Mysteries of Udolpho, which features in one of the novels of Jane Austen. In that Austen novel, the young heroine Catherine Morland’s favourite novel is The Mysteries of Udolpho; she reads it and then makes a fool of herself when she visits Northanger Abbey. tongue
