Re: Wink Murder

You wink and then the next person to view the board dies and then someone else needs to guess who killed them.
Unfortunately, you can't see who I am, so unless you do a clever guess, I'm safe.

WINK!

Re: Wink Murder

I'm afraid that's not the way I was thinking.

The way I do it with my friends is that everyone writes down their email address and posts it (or if the forum enables PMs, you PM instead to everybody playing). The person in charge emails (or PMs) one person and tells them they are the murderer. The murderer then s-l-o-w-l-y kills people, most of the time it is once a day, by emailing them to tell them they're dead. They then state they're dead by writing a piece of prose, or roleplay, or whatever, and posting it.
The remaining people have to quickly guess who the murderer is, with one guess per game, the person in charge cannot guess since they already know who the murderer is, and the murderer can guess so he/she will not give away the fact that he/she is the murderer.

Um, anybody over 13 want to play? Or is this just stupid and needs to be archived?

Re: Wink Murder

Not stupid at all ... sounds great.

But how to make it work with safety/privacy in mind? Hmmm... Admin/Moderator could send the emails if people gave permission.

Or some software addition to the forum could let people know they are dead when they log in, or check their user profile.

Re: Wink Murder

I'll remember that for you. But first I need to work out how the person in charge would let the random person know they are the murderer.

Re: Wink Murder

I don't really think so, because then it wouldn't be more interesting fort the 'dead-to-be' people.

Re: Wink Murder

OK, I am making the list for people who want to play:

Roraborealis
Kiana baby1
Stewie?
Rod?

If you play, you MUST trust me, you MUST check your email inbox every single day, and you MUST return to this thread often, and be sure to post your death.
I will allow a short while longer for anyone else to sign up.

Re: Wink Murder

Oh sure, I will be in it!

I am a bit worried it may not work so well on the computer, but if we have a go we can maybe learn how to make it much better.

Re: Wink Murder

I'll play, put me down!

I don't get how you'll send stuff to us if you don't know our email addresses...or do you (or are we using PMs)?

And how will we know the email is from you?

And I don't get what we're meant to write for the prose or whatever...

sorry for all the questions...! hmm

Maybe just don't kill me first, I'll watch or something...I'll be justlookingforthemoment. smile

Re: Wink Murder

I like to think of you as just looking for "The Moment", rather than just looking (for the moment).

In other words, you are a seeker of that "defining moment in time"

Re: Wink Murder

If we're using PMs, we may want to get some kind of like... PM code.

Re: Wink Murder

1. I can see EVERYONE's email bacause I'm one of the mods.

2. You'll know it's from me because I'll put 'from Rora' or something in the subject bar when you recieve it.

3. When you die, you may if you wish post a piece of roleplay, or write a short thrilling paragraph or something, explaining how you died. It all part of the fun! smile

And it's fine, I was kinda expecting questions since I don't explain things that clearly.

Re: Wink Murder

Yeah, I want so see how it works - it may even be possible to change the software of the forum to make it work better (example a black dot shows up next to your name when you are "murdered".)

Re: Wink Murder

The problem with this is that some people will want to play and say "Can I join in?" in a whingy voice even though you have clearly said that you only allowed people to join up until yesterday. Allow me to demonstrate...
Can I join in?

Why did the vector cross the road?
