Strange - There are several solutions and I get several answers...all correct.

2. A frog eats 104 insects over a period of 4 days. Each day he eats 10 more insects than he did the previous day. How many insects did he eat in each day? (this one should be easy)

3. A couple have children. They buy 14 bars of dairy chocolate, 42 bars of dark chocolate, and 84 bars of cadbury's chocolate. The children each share the bars equally between each other. How many children do they have?

This one is slightly easier:

Using the following numbers, make 689. You may use brackets, +, -, × and ÷. If you want to, use any other operations as well, such as sqrt, factorials, etc.

689 = (50+3) * (9+4) {*(2-1), if you want them all used}.
