Edit: Hidden so that other people can try. It's definitely possible though.

Re: 1 million!

It's right.

x^2 (pronounced "x squared") = x * x
x^3 (pronounced "x cubed") = x*x*x
x&4 (pronounced "x to the fourth") = x*x*x*x

Then there is x to the fifth (x^5) and x to the sixth (x^6) and so on.

(9+1)^(8+7-6-5-4+3*2 ) = (10)^(8 + 7 - 6 - 5 - 4 + 6) = 10^(15 - 5 - 4) = 10^(6)

10^6 = 10*10*10*10*10*10 = 1,000,000

So, exponents are probably allowed then. It's more fun to not use them though because exponents make it too simple. You just need to find some way of making 10, 6 and optionally 0 and/or 1. And where's the fun in that?

Re: 1 million!

If exponents were allowed, it would become too easy. 4^3 for instance, means 4*4*4. But that is using a number thrice in working, or more than once, so to speak. I think exponents should be disallowed.

Re: 1 million!

Exponents are powers. 5² = 5x5. 5³ = 5x5x5. 5[sup]4[/sup] = 5x5x5x5. And so on...

Re: 1 million!

If you use the [sup] tag in the last line of a post, then the bottom of the text gets cut off slightly. If you look in the topic review as you make a new post in this topic, you'll see what I mean.

I didn't actually change Devanté's post at all there, the 'last edited by' was enough to fix the problem. big_smile

which means you take all numbers up to that number multiplied with eachother (starting with 1 or 2). for example 4! = 1*2*3*4=24
aaaaand now i realize that the same thing happens here as with the exponents, its the same as using all these numbers.....darn sad

Re: 1 million!

Hmm...so, shall we say that anything is allowed? Someone is bound to wriggle their way to an easy answer somehow.

EDIT: And on another note, what is 1,000,000!?
