Hi;

No hocus pokus at all. In integer division we have a quotient and a remainder. For instance 17 / 6 = 2 with a remainder of 5. This is what division of polynomials uses. We expect the quotient and the remainder to also be polynomials.

Nope, but we are given that the remainder is of the form x + a.
