Do you mean dragon's, mathsy?

Urm, I don't think so. Where is the grammatical error in saying 'dragons'?

Re: Year of the Dog

Dragons is correct. We are many and Mathsy's not saying that anything belongs to a dragon.

One of the oldest and most historical cities in the US. Must be nice.

Meh. Its a dung heap. Benjamin Franklin wanted philadelphia to be a city with broad streets and large spacious homes. But that didn't last long. The few remaining large homes are falling apart or abandoned, pretty much nothing but rowhomes now. As for the histrorical value, apart from the fact that I've always prefered math to history, I'm not in center city where all the historical sites are. Though its not far, and I've been there a few times. Hate it! Buildings block the sunlight and wind forced inbetween the buildings makes it cold. Homeless people and pickpockets everywhere. And of course hundreds of disgusting pigeons that nest in disgusting places. Have to pay for a commercial parking space. And of course graphiti is everywhere.

I'd rather live in athens greece where the graphiti on the buildings is only math calculations...

I'm not a city boy, though I've lived here all my life.

The cheesesteaks are good though...

Well, there you go! Another illusion bites the dust.

Anyway, it still has a really nice name.

Re: Year of the Dog

Yes, Filthydelphia as some call it.

I'm sure NYC is the same way. Its nice from a distance, but walking the streets you just feel so vulnerable you can't relax and enjoy. But thats just center city. There are other area's of philly that are much nicer. (or much worse...) I live in a relatively secluded area so its not so bad. I just hate row homes....

The only admitably cool thing is running up the steps of the art museum, where Rocky Balboa did. A lot of the places in the movies I've seen. And of course Sylvester Stalone grew up in philly, and he went to a school 5 minutes from my house.  Also Will Smith is from Philadelphia.

My god. Did I actually put that and not notice it? I feel so ashamed.

I apologise unreservedly to anyone offended by this insult to language. Especially me.

Ahh... yes.

I thought you would notice it and change it, and I waited a bit but... in the end it got to me.

Nice apology. Accepted! Your new signature is much better, anyway. smile
