Has the large hadron collider destroyed the world?

Has the large hadron collider destroyed the world already?

Re: Has the large hadron collider destroyed the world?

He has not built it obviously.

In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them.
If it ain't broke, fix it until it is.
Always satisfy the Prime Directive of getting the right answer above all else.

Re: Has the large hadron collider destroyed the world?

Physicist at CERN are going to create a quantum sized black hole. Because they believe that Hawking Radiation is correct, if it's wrong we are all doomed.

Re: Has the large hadron collider destroyed the world?

Reasons why the world will get destroyed by the LHS :
1) Uncontrollable explosion and melt down
2) Black Hole
3) Faster than light communication
4) Messing around with Higgs Boson and the other elementary particles

Please.

This is all pop-sci nonsense. Nothing like this will happen.

Re: Has the large hadron collider destroyed the world?

Alright. Then they better explain to the public that something like that won't happen.

Re: Has the large hadron collider destroyed the world?

Sorry, I was talking about the whole news coverage of it being nonsense.

They can't really explain it to the public...

Re: Has the large hadron collider destroyed the world?

I believe CERN created something called ENQUIRE in around 1989 or 1990.
