Re: Generating Functions

I could do a thread.

In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them.
I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it.
All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof.

Re: Generating Functions

Sure. I'd say this problem deserves it. Post it when you can.

The limit operator is just an excuse for doing something you know you can't.

I will start a thread but it will be difficult.

Re: Generating Functions

You don't have to do it immediately. Do it when you find some time.

When will that be? I am knee deep in 100 problems.

Did you find the thread?

It is in computer math and it is quite old.

I have not seen the asymptotic form yet so what can I say about big O?

Re: Generating Functions

As you know I rarely ever use Big O. M provides one but there are usually better ways to get the bound.

It would appear that either I have lost the file or a combat team of reppies have beamed in and eaten it. Either way we will not be looking over that method.
