Re: Bafflers?

I am downloading the video but my first impression was rather obvious.

In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them.

Re: Bafflers?

Thought so.

I got bored in the first half of the first video so I just skipped to the second one.

Re: Bafflers?

New problem:

A is playing a board game with B,C and D. In the game 6 fair die are thrown. The sum of the last three die are subtracted from the sum of the first 3. The player advances by the value of the difference. For instance A throws,

(1,1,6,2,2,4)

1 +1 + 6 - 2 - 2 - 4 = 0 so A does not move forward or back. B rolls,

(1,5,5,1,2,3)

1 + 5 + 5 - 1 - 2 - 3 = 5 so he moves 5 spaces forward.

A says) I hate this game. I just always seem to stay in the same spot. I would wager even money that on my next ten throws it will happen 5 or more times!

B says) That is highly unlikely A and stop smoking that infernal pipe. Also, you never pay up when you lose.

C says) I would say the odds of it happening are about 60%. I want to back A's play!

D says) What are odds?

E says) Yes that pipe does stink what do you put in it ground up skunk meat? 60% is way too high C.

Do you agree with A? Do you agree with B? Is E correct about A's pipe?

I am sorry but it is because he is brilliant in every sense of the word except the dictionary one.
